At least they're sharing.....

Lots of the time my kids loathe sharing with each other.

Unless one of them is sick - then they seem to share their viruses with each other without even trying - lol!

Yep the dreaded cold-bug is STILL hanging around at our house.  Alex ended up staying at home again on Friday meaning I had to cancel my scrapping date - grr.....and then it basically continued all weekend.  Our weekend flew as our every day has been, but before Madeleine finally succumbed to snot-ville, she was a beautiful fairy at a birthday party on Saturday!

Fairy_blog

She had a BALL, on of the best days she's ever had apparently.  The party was at Enchanted Blooms and everything was gorgeous.  I'm told my Miss Moo is having her birthday there and it's going to be a mermaid party.....it's not so far away either!

I can't believe it's the 20th of this month already!  Amazing how fast the time flies...

The weekend here was so cold so we did a whole lot of nothing, just letting kids rest.  I cleaned out and re-arranged my scrapping space and did two layouts - one for Aussie Scrap Source and one for KSK .  Still have a couple to go but today I'm working on a class sample for Simply Said .  I was meant to work this morning but was able to re-arrange everything so I could stay home with Madeleine!

Alex went back to school yesterday - that was ugly but to his credit he worked through the feelings he had and despite tears from both of us, we're now in a happy place!  Geez parenting is hard at times......I'm grateful that he has a fabulous teacher - phew!

Maddy's teacher called me in the afternoon to pick her up as she was flat and sick.  Sigh......I've had kids home or someone else here every day for almost three weeks!  Ah well what can ya do?

I can share this layout I did for Aussie Scrap Source.     It was for the Scrap Her Style feature where we scrap (or attempt to - lol) scrap in the style of one of the other girls.  For this round I was scrapping like Caroline McLachlin.  We are so different to each other that I was scared, but like I said, now that I've done it, I have a total new appreciation for the graphic scrapping style. :)  it was fun, thanks Caz :)

Dance_shs_caz

Our fish are doing fabulously too!!!

The weather is now turning nasty, better go get my washing off the line!

Almost-Friday Fish Update

Our little fishies are growing nicely.  Alex has been home from school sick EVERY single day this week.  he's really been suffering poor baby and had to come to work with me on Tuesday.  He wasn't so bad on Tuesday so we went to the pet shop and fitted out our tank.  I figured the babies had survived and were actually growing so we should give them a proper home.

Tank1

Tank2

That's just one of the babies, hasn't he grown heaps already?

So I have happy fish and a happy family watching them grow :)

Well mostly happy other than my sick one who has hardly slept at all, it's wearing me down, so badly.....
I'm supposed to be heading off for a scrapping date tomorrow but I'm thinking Alexander will be home again and I'll have to postpone... :(

I worked last night, my class was BIG and spread over several rooms which was good because I got some exercise which goodness knows I need!  So there was champagne, giggles and gorgeous scrapping completed.  Speaking of work, Marie is giving away this month's Simply Said kit to a lucky comment leaver.  Click on her name or the Simply Said links and leave a comment and you might win.  It's a yummy kit!

More from Simply Said and I whipped this up the other night with CherryArte.  You will need your sunnies - isn't it bright??

M_cherryarte

Nice to just chuck together a quick layout and be happy with it :)

That's about it other than sickies, fish and lots of domestic stuff.  I'm hoping for a potter-around quiet weekend.....it's meant to snow near here (yay) so I reckon we'll be inside gathered around the heater - lol!

Okay have a happy Friday and seeya!!!!

Just because....

.....just because I haven't posted everyday details for a bit, I'm doing that now :)

My blog is here to record this seemingly insignificant stuff and since I'm still in my pjs at lunchtime I thought this a good opportunity to stay in them even longer!

Both kids are home today being Curriculum Day at school.  They were both sick over the weekend but I think they're on the mend.  They are bickering and fighting a bit today so I'm thinking that's a good sign that they're better! Sigh.....it's not so good for ME though ;)

So...first of all out little tadpoles goldfish are growing nicely.  I'd love to tell you their names but it changes daily depending on the kids' moods I think!

Fish

I STILL haven't finished fitting out their little tank yet, must get to that today!

And I have mentioned in a few blog posts recently that I've been treasure hunting.  My mother's partner's mother had a house that has been sold and she was an avid collector of 'stuff'.  Good stuff, bad stuff, STUFF! Anyway they have had to clean a lot of stuff out and I've been very lucky to score buttons and jewellery.  Also a dresser for Maddy that needs restoring and a few other bits and pieces.  Here's a few bits I've managed to acquire.  If you know me you know I like junky jewellery and well here's what I got.  I love that it's all a bit different!

Jewels

I especially love the 70s flower pendant and the old necklaces. The one centre top is solid silver and sooo heavy.  I've got to get it to the jewellers to have it cleaned properly I just love it!

Got these at the Queen Vic market in Melbourne the other week -

Img_3733_resize

The light is SO dull here at the moment.  Don't get me wrong I love Winter but I am starting to forget what sun looks like :(

Found this in my travels the other day too - the glass not the stuff in it!

Img_3712_resize

Acquired even more new mugs - well I can't resist Little Britain - perfectly tacky!

Img_3722_resize

I do love these so!

And......Mother's Day.  Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums.  Mine started off with crying kids with tummy aches - sigh.....

Nath made lunch for us and then I did the washing and scrapped DT stuff.  We had a very lazy potter-around-the-house weekend and they are my favourite kind!  I got some cute gifts from Alex and Maddy from the school stall.  I got orange-scented candles in a tin, a toilet bag thing with bath sponges, hankies, a notebook, one of those smelly things with the bamboo sticks and this gorgeous card from Miss-Moo.

Card

I'm so proud of her as it's the first year she's really been able to write all of this in my card!  It's gorgeous.

We had afternoon tea with my Mum and then I scrapped some more.  I stitched and stitched and stitched - woohoo!

Oh here's the gorgeous flowers we got when I taught my Mum class at Simply Said last week -

Img_3721_resize

Now it's after lunchtime, I'd better do something productive.  I have a class sample to do so I'm off!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Photos and Funny Stuff!

Wednesday I met my sister at the park where Nathan and I got married to take photos of her and her delectable babies!

Sam1_resize_resize

They were SO cute.  Wild and crazy but oh SO fantastic.  I got some GREAT photos of them that my sister is giving as gifts for Mother's Day.

L5_resize_resize

J3_resize_resize

I got lots of cute photos  and we looked in the ponds and there were HUNDREDS, maybe thousands of little tadpoles in the ponds.  I actually took my kids back later to catch some so we could watch them turn into little frogs and then let them go.  I didn't know at the time that is actually illegal to catch tadpoles.  Anyway.

So, it's pouring rain and muddy and all I took was a bucket, so it was ME on my tummy, in the gardens on the side of the yucky pond dipping in the bucket catching tadpoles and all I got was THREE!!!  Anyway three was enough!

So we carefully took them home and placed them in a little fish tank ready to witness the miracle of nature....

Thursday morning, I gave them some food and later that day noticed they had grown a bit.

into.....................

FISH

Oops seems our tadpoles were actually teeny weeny goldfish!!!!!

Roflmao......it's all good, they've grown again already and we're still witnessing the miracle of nature - only a different one!  Once I get the water to settle I will take some photos so we can document their growth.  How funny though!

I did my second Mother's Day class at Simply Said on Wednesday night and I got THE best treat from Marie!  We received chrysanthemums, chocolate at the class AND champagne!  Woohoo thanks Marie and Happy Mother's Day to us!!

Today I lunched at the pub with a new friend and it was lovely to see her and get to know her more.:)

And this afternoon I had a wonderful time teasing my kids as I picked them up from school knowing they had Mother's Day presents from the stall hidden in their bags.  Maddy badly wanted to give hers to me - it was gorgeous!

I'm still busy busy busy as always but it's all good.

Alexander's basketball team won tonight 28-8.  I was so disappointed because I didn't go.  Maddy was a bit off-colour so we stayed home.  I love watching his games!

Happy Mother's Day and hope you have a great weekend! I'll be scrapping my heart out!

If you love the same treasures as I do you MUST check out the site it is DIVINE!!!!  I just love drooling over the gorgeous pics, I want EVERYTHING!!!  and I can't wait to be a designer for there and play with those treasures!!!

Hope you are keeping warm, I have a gazillion domestic chores to do before picking kids up and heading off to work tonight!

Thanks for visiting!!!!

Pyjama Day

Posting to procrastinate I think!

It's well after noon and we are all still in our pyjamas doing a whole lot of nothing!

It's wet, cold and miserable.

I'd better get motivated though as I have projects to do and we're out for dinner tonight.

I've heard a rumour that a friend is also bringing his new partner up to meet us.

What a shock she'll get if they arrive soon - lol

Love pyjama days................:)

We're Back......

We're back after a lightning fast few days.  Wow it went SO fast :(

I was outvoted on the Anzac Parade so we didn't go.  Really, the kids and Nath and well me too I guess, just wanted to take things easy and not rush so we got out of bed whenever.  We ended up going to museum on the Friday.  Oh please, we've been there SO many times before and that's ALL the kids wanted to do on Friday - lol

Img_0038_resize

Alex in particular loved playing with their new toy -

There's heaps more of the museum but I'll stop boring everyone now - lol.....

Oh except for this one - how gorgeous is this quilt? I would have liked to shove it up my jumper and run away with it......sigh....

Img_3280_resize

We caught a tram, we shopped, we went out for dinner, we walked and walked, we even went on a horse and carriage ride through the city much to Maddy's delight.  The squeals of excitement from her were just priceless and while Alex was trying to remain cool, he was into it too.  I've always wanted to do it so I was excited like Maddy and at night was awesome!  Shame it was raining but that didn't dampen our spirits....

Img_0143_resize

Img_0134_resize

Img_0137_resize

We walked in the puddles and looked at the lights, went out for dinner, played chess and even played in a park while it was dark, cold and wet - lol!

Img_0146_resize

Img_0181_resize

This was so cool - we came across an antique restored carousel.  of course we HAD to have a go.  Made me feel like I was going to vomit but it was fun - lol!

Img_0157_resize

Img_0170_resize

Img_0162_resize

I only took the new point and shoot camera a lot of the time and the difference between that and my beloved SLR is HUGE!  I will put up with the inconvenience of a large camera bag for the sake of good photos I think....

I spent lots of time with my Grannie too which I was very happy about, and scored a few good bargains.  It just went WAY too fast unfortunately....

Both kids were WAY excited to find this artwork of their favourite Totoro

Img_3285_resize

Img_3291_resize

Mind you Alex would have been happy to spend the whole weekend playing the Wii.....

Img_3296_resize

We also went to the Queen Vic Market and came home exhausted but refreshed if that is possible - lol!

Back into the swing of things now though, first thing being my class at Simply Said this week.  I taught this yesterday and will again tonight.  VERY exciting because I designed everything from the chipboard pieces right to the finished product and they all looked awesome yesterday!

Ss_chip_alb_class

Well that's about it for today, I have lots of scrappy stuff to do and it's FREEZING!  Yay it might just snow early here - I hear it's close!!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

We're Off!

Moose_back

We're heading off into the city for a few days over this long weekend. Love that pic, I stole borrowed it from this

site.  Hope they don't mind....anyway, I'm in a mess of chaos trying to pack for all of us while clothes we need are still being washed/dried/ironed and I'm trying to get my head around absolutely everything we need too.  I really LOATHE going away disorganised so I'm madly packing. :)

I bought a new digital camera yesterday.  It kind of looks like this, only blue.

Canonpowershota4701

After being so spoilt with my Canon SLR, I realise how crappy a point and shoot camera is but for what it is, it takes really fabulous pics.  It's just another thing for the kids to fight over.  I really bought it for them to use while we're away.  I can't wait to see what they take photos of - it's all so exciting.

We're going to watch the ANZAC parade tomorrow in Melbourne.  I'm looking forward to that, should be good although I find it all quite emotional.  I just can't imagine what it must have been like, or what it still must be like to be a part of it all.  I have Anzac badges at the ready, and not the crap $2 either!

I also wanted to share my next Book of Me class sample for Simply Said .  My theme was Home.  I had THE best night, a really full class and I am always inspired by the girls who scrap at the shop - amazing!

Ss_bom_class_4

I got home quite late - lol, but it was all good.

Okay back to my packing and DON'T FORGET about the KSK auction for the Asthma Foundation.  Details on the post below, it ENDS tomorrow and all of the layouts are a BARGAIN!!

Seeya in a few days with HEAPS of photos no doubt!

Sunday, April 20, 2008

I will scrap your photos.........

Want me to make you a layout using your photos?

Well.......Karen from KSK is running a charity auction this weekend, where you can bid on a layout made for YOU by ME (or one of the other gorgeous KSK DT girls!) to raise funds for the Asthma Foundation.

If you want to bid go to here

Happy bidding!  :)

Weekend and class stuff

Phew, well, a crazy day today but I'm most excited.  The day started off with ordering yummy frames for a class - can't wait to share that!

Then Nath told me some fabbo news.  We're looking at buying a business.  Oh my goodness.  It has come from nowhere and will change our lives if we do it, but more on that later.

For now here's my next class for the Book of Me series - My Home.

Home_peek

It's on THIS Tuesday morning at Simply Said and repeated on Wednesday night.  Let me know or call the shop if you want to come.

Hope you're enjoying this gorgeous sunshine.  My washing is flapping away on the line - love that, then I've got to madly make dinner, fold that washing, go to basketball, sort out everything for the weekend - it's a busy one for us this week and do all the usual Mumma stuff so I'd best get cracking now!!!

Super Duper!!

Just a quickie for today!

I have finished teaching my "Super" mini book class for Simply Said this week.  This class had a kit and there's still two left if you want them.  They're $25 each plus your postage and contain everything to make the book aside from the binding but you could totally use rings instead if you don't have a binder!  The pages were made from framing off-cuts that I had given to me, so I'm passing them on for free!  Woohoo.  It is super duper simple, I'll give you access to detailed pictures.

Not much else to report.  I had a lovely quiet day at home doing the Mumma thing.  I'm almost feeling organised. :)  Lucky because we're going away in 7 more sleeps and I can't wait - yay!  Only a few days away but I'm really looking forward to getting away.

I had one little incident when the school called me today to say Maddy had hit her head.  I went to pick her up and she was surrounded by all of her cute little class mates all looking after her.  After a cuddle she decided she wanted to stay at school so I went home again - lol!

Okay please email me if you'd like one of these kits.  The link is up near my photo. :)

Have a fab weekend xxx

Materialicious

I'm in a bit of a funny place today, emotionally.  I dunno, I'm feeling a bit flat and blah - blah!!!  Unwinding with a big glass of red, that should take care of the blahs - lol!

Both kids' teachers were on strike today which was a real nuisance since I had a class to teach.  I do support the cause, I really do, but does it have to be on a work day?  Grrr....I ended up having to take Maddy to work and then between a friend and I we managed to take care of hers and my kids getting them to school this afternoon and picking them up.  It's times like that I'm grateful for a great network of friends :)  The kids were expected at school at 1pm which was their lunch time so really they were at school for 1.5 hours - sigh....

Got to catch up with a friend this arvo which was great and I got organised at home - kind of.  Nath is at poker tonight and I'm scrapping and still loving it.  Speaking of scrapping my Fabric Techniques feature for Aussie Scrap Source came out in Scrapbook Creations this week.

Funny you know because when I did this feature I thought about how cool it would be to design for Aussie Scrap Source and didn't give it much other thought until I was asked to join the Design Team months later....hmmm.....lol

Anyway I did this over Christmas during that awful heatwave - great excuse to HAVE to scrap and FABULOUS excuse to finally use lots of fabric.  It was something I hadn't really had a chance to use last year. :)

This was a page I had wanted to do for so long and it was driving me mad!  Heaps of techniques and French Knots!  Lucky I like stitching them ;)

Super

I've been scrapping my butt off for the last few days and LOVING it.  When I can get to it that is...I'm enjoying every class sample and even working on stuff that isn't due quite yet!  I know UNHEARD of for me.

Yesterday I went out for breakfast with a friend and once I had lost my momentum, my day was just a waste. I had THE worst headache I'd had in ages and it stuffed up any chance I had of getting much done.

Anyway....earlier this week I frantically finished my next class for Simply Said  - my Super Mini Album.  There's people waiting for peeks so here they are and I will email a requirements list to those who have booked.  Crikey I'm getting on top of it all but sheesh the time just flies!

This class will be run on Tuesday morning and repeated Wednesday night and has a kit that contains all the stuff you need.  The places are very limited so if you want to join me, please let me know, or call the shop - number above left :)

Not much else to report - been baking, scrapping, socializing, Mummy-ing all that stuff so I'll leave you with a layout in the Mums gallery in Scrapbooking Memories this month.  I made this AGES ago and I still think  my Miss Moo is absolutely delicious in these photos.

Okay I'm very inspired right now so I'm going straight back to it - well amongst dinner and stuff - it's never done is it?  lol.  Hope your weekend is grand and let me know if you want to come to my class :)

Oh PS - I know I owe emails, I'm getting to them promise xxxx

Man oh Man

Today I've barely moved from this desk - lol.  I madly dropped the kids off, did a quick house clean, threw on the washing and then I have been in a scrapping frenzy.  Aside from picking up the kids and cooking dinner, I did not stop until I went to work tonight at Simply Said .  I was blowing the ink on my latest project dry as I was running out the door!

Anyway more on THAT tomorrow, but for now here's another from my Book Of Me class. :)

Ss_bom_class_3

Looks a bit green here on my screen - grr, but you get the idea :)

Everyone's turned out SO well, this class turned out fabulously and as I always say, I LOVE seeing everyone's own spin on my start ;)

Okay well since I only scrapped and mothered, nothing else to report really ;)

Tuesday Waffle

Oh I'm so tired fighting sleep as usual, while the house is quiet.  To be honest I'm madly working on class samples tonight hoping to get a couple out of the way by the end of the week.  I have HEAPS to do, and am LOVING every second of all my scrapping right now.  It's like I have a renewed energy towards it all.  I'm loving classes, loving the magazine features I've been doing, loving doing DT stuff, LOVE it ALL - woohoo!

Now I'm also loving the Mumma stuff right now too, probably helped along by the kids going back to school yesterday. I'm still craving serenity because believe me, I'm still not getting much quiet, am STILL desperately craving some space, but I baked today.:)

Sroll_resize

Hmm sausage rolls....which were in fact a hit with the kiddos who both agreed that mine were BETTER than the bakery.  Now you can't get much better compliments than that ;)

I also worked this morning at Simply Said teaching a Book of Me class.  I was VERY happily surprised to see some familiar faces that I haven't seen for a while. :)

I'm teaching the same class again tomorrow night - all about the man or boys in your life.  I can still squeeze a couple of people in if you'd like to join.

And............one more thing, best thing ever - Madeleine read to ME tonight - a whole book.  I'm SO proud of her, and best of all she was so proud of herself.  School has been fantastic for her, she's just blossomed :)

I'm going to leave this short and sweet post here because I REALLY need to have an early night. :)

Genius

UGH!!!  I just sat here for ages writing a post and just lost it @#$%^&* grr :(

Well I was saying that my day has been filled with both joy and frustration.

Joy because Alex and Maddy played in the mud all day.  Joy because they were outside, joy because they weren't in front of the TV, joy because they were being nice to each other.  Frustration because they changed their clothes about 5 times each!!!

Like I don't have a huge enough washing pile as it is, now it's a MOUNTAIN!  And it's midnight on Saturday night and my washing machine is going non-stop.  With the cold weather here it's hard to get things dry without resorting to the black-balloon-greenhouse-gas producing clothes dryer.

Still if you can't play in the mud when you're a kid, when can you?  It's just dirt - on their clothes, in their hair, all over my floors in my car.........sigh.......let's just say I've been doing quite a bit of cleaning today!  And actually got some snuggle time with my hubby too - finally!!!!

More joy because I'm putting the finishing touches on a very overdue class sample.  Frustration because it seems that every time I get near it to work on it, something has gotten in the way!

Okay before I go, I have to tell you about a movie I just saw - Across The Universe

Pure

Soul-moving

GENIUS!

I have laughed, I have sobbed uncontrollably, I have been entertained and touched all at once.

From IMDB - " The music of the Beatles and the Vietnam War form the backdrop for the romance between an upper-class American girl and a poor Liverpudlian artist."

Unbelievable

You HAVE to see it!

Okay I'm outta here before I lose this post too - seeya xx

Week

Wow this week has just flown...it has ended right when I was starting to get into the school holidays and now we're back to school again!  I still think the timing was STUPID but they're over with now so I guess I should just stop whining about them!

The start of this week I was working madly on a magazine feature.  I thought it would come together quickly but ended up taking longer than expected.  Amazing how inspiration takes until the last moment to hit!  It has all arrived where it needed to safe and sound so that's a relief!

I taught my kids doodling class at Simply Said on Tuesday and despite their apprehension, my kids had a ball!  Especially Alexander.  He has made a couple of new friends who were gorgeous and they all drew Pokemon and it sparked a new interest in scrapping for both of my babies.  It's been awesome because while I've worked on layouts, so have they.  I'll have to post them on here, I'm so proud of Alex and how he's come along and Maddy has a definite sense of design happening as well. So they've been working VERY hard!!!

We ended up bringing home a couple of extra playmates for Alex and Maddy after work on Tuesday.  It was lovely actually because we went out for lunch and then Nathan had finished work early so instead of panicking about my work not being finished, I was able to do it because my kids had other kids to play with so they tend not to fight too much.

Nath cooked with the kids - it was so unbelievably, kind of him to do so.  Then another friend called me to ask for help as she'd hurt her back and couldn't drive well and needed me to drive.  Well I did what any good friend would do and went and picked up her kids too and brought them home for the day and for dinner so she could rest, so by this stage we had six kids.  Add on the one that pops over the fence and we had seven.  And they were ALL gorgeous.  The day was fine so they played outside in our yard. They baked, they scrapped, they made up games, they shared and it was FABULOUS!  I managed to get washing done and loads of work too. By the end of the day they were all grubby and worn out and perfectly healthily tired!  Nath even cooked dinner - gotta love that man..........;)

Wednesday we lunched with Mum for her birthday and I got everything packed and posted off and got held up anywhere and everywhere I could think of.  When Nathan got home I pleaded with him to go out and take the kids for an hour or so so I could get organised.  It was chaos at our house and I just needed to get a few things straightened and sorted.  I went through the house and dusted and mopped and cleaned the bathroom and all the stuff I'd been neglecting since Easter or so.  Phew it was such a relief to get on top of things and Alex and Maddy got to see their friends too.  I even did ironing.....;)

Yesterday I found this in our lounge in front of the heater -

B4

Seems Maddy thought Basil might have been uncomfortable and that he needed some pampering.  Looks like he lapped it up too!  Poor old thing he turned 14 this year.  In cat years that is 74!! He's spent a whole lot of time hogging the heater for the last freezing week or so...

Yesterday was another day of slack morning and then total madness.  While I love slacking in my pjs until lunch, it does make me incredibly disorganized!  I got my hair cut too - in fact we all did - finally.  All four of us were WAY overgrown especially my boys!  I couldn't see through my fringe - what a relief!

I've been so so so incredibly tired this week too.  Don't know if it's the freezing weather or what.  Anyway I even LOOK tired - blah, hope it passes soon.  I took the kids to the cinema today and four others too.  I was a wee bit apprehensive about taking SIX kids to the cinema alone but they were all perfect.  In fact they were beyond perfect.  We saw Horton Hears A Who .  Geez I was so bored I almost dozed off so I surfed the net from my phone - lol.  The kids loved it though ;)  And that's all that matters.

Both of my babies were really good today, they've been gorgeous.  they drove me mad last week, I couldn't wait for them to go back to school, now that the holidays are over, I don't want them to go back.......hmm....lol...

Here's some new pics for this week anyway......my gorgeous girl....just being gorgeous

B5

My gorgeous boy doing the same....

B2

My gorgeous man....doing the Daddy thing and being appreciated for it...

B3

And me with my boys....yes I have projects to do that I needed these photos for lol.

B1

My kids are extortionists.  They wanted CASH for scrapping photos.  I said NO, we compromised with lollies....I did suggest that they take it out of what THEY owe me for rent, dinner, laundry etc and they backed off right away - PMSL!

Okay this has become a mammoth post so I'll leave it here..........OH and before I forget, KSK are looking for a new Design Team Member.  It's a pretty good gig if you want to have a go - APPLY!!!!

Paper and stamps and stuff....

Well.......today was my big day at Paperific finally.  All of the classes that were to be run Friday were cancelled so I just had today and it feels  like I've been building up to this day forever and of course it's over in a flash!  I am in a word - EXHAUSTED, as I'm sure everyone is.  But it's all good. :)

I left here when it was still dark and managed to go in the wrong direction on more than one occasion BUT I made it there and even on time so again all good.

My morning class was quite big and what a fantastically fantastic group I had!  Truly it was a hard project to grasp and they all persisted and came through.  I cannot wait to see them completed (hint hint I KNOW you're reading - lol!)

I can finally share now :)  Mixed acrylic album:

Img_2138_resize

I'm becoming seriously addicted to acrylic for scrapping.  Funny because initially I didn't really like it and the idea of using different stuff for pages wouldn't have made any sense to me a while back but I really had a ball making this and teaching it too!

And then in the afternoon I had my Easter class.  There are still kits for both classes available from KSK Everything you need is in this kit.  You only have to add ink and stamps and a bit of journalling if you want!  Oh and your photos too - all the papers, rub-ons, journal cards, everything you see is included - oh and the album bits too!

Here's my Easter layout too, how cute is that Imaginisce paper?

Ksk_paperific_easter_resize_2

It's actually quite bright and candy coloured with glitter on the paper.  I can tell you, all that bright and cute paper scared the heck out of me at first but.....it really grew on me after a little while :) Yummy!

I was disappointed that I didn't end up getting time to spend with the Bridge gals but I'll have to do it another time....:(

I did a little of the make-and-takes for KSK, pretended to know what I was doing and had a good wander around the place.  LOTS of people, lots of 'stuff'.  I was good and only came home with my ultimate weakness - RIBBON....;)

Nice to have a day out too ;)

Okay I'm exhausted and FREEZING - got my woolly bedsocks on but i reckon I'll go and jump into bed and hope that Nath is willing to share his warmth with me!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much to you ladies who did my classes today :)

Happy Easter :)

Okay so I'm not religious, don't really care what Easter is all about , but isn't it nice to have a happy kind of holiday celebration thing going on this weekend?  I have to say I've done NO work despite the fact that it's crunch time and I have really achieved nothing - lol!

So Thursday was the last day of term.  Thankfully someone mentioned to me that it was early pick up.  Apparently the school had accidentally not informed us and school finished an hour early.  Even with a reminder I almost forgot!! Bad bad mother!!!

Easter_bunny

So early finish on Thursday meant we ran into this big furry thing in the street.  Madeleine was so cute, she spotted Easter Bunny and grabbed one of the eggs her teacher had given her and insisted on giving it to him.  She is such a generous little soul....:)

Nath went fishing Thursday night, we went to a friend's house and helped her colour her hair and then coloured mine on Friday.  Oooo it's DARK!  Lol, way darker than I thought it would be which is no big deal really but far out it's dark - he he he.  At least those pesky stray greys that were appearing randomly are gone.  I'm sure it will fade, I have dark hair anyway so it's all good :)

Just pretty much bummed around at home Friday, went to Mum's yesterday for egg exchange and morning tea and while I've had the best intentions of getting lots of work done and class lists written, I haven't got far at all..........oops!

Here's a pic from the kids' crazy hair day last week too -

Crazy_hair_day_small

Little ferals........must get that from their father - roflmao....

Oh, and Madeleine went to her first ever disco this week.  It was SO hot and Alexander refused to go so we left the boys home and Maddy and I went to dance.  She loves to dance (like her Mum, although her Mum's pretty un-co - lol)

M_disco_fastprocess

She didn't last long with the heat but loved what she did.  Amazing how much my baby has grown in just one term.  She comes out with things now that amaze me and it's such an exciting new phase that our family has entered.  I really loved it when my kids were babies and occasionally miss that but boy oh boy I'm LOVING having both kids at school and finally starting to feel like I'm adjusting to it. :)

N_m_resize

Alex took that yesterday.  I really need photos of HIM for a project but he was being a turd so Maddy asked if she could have a photo with me.  Still didn't get a reasonable one of him.  Grr, WHY are boys such a pain? Means I can't start my project yet and we'll have to do them again - grrrr.....

Speaking of photos, I did some of my younger sister today.  Her MSN photo was awful and we've been meaning to update for ages so she popped around today.  Isn't she gorgeous?

Sam2_resize

We're not much alike are we? Sam is three years younger than me and then I have another sister younger again by almost nine years.  Funny you know - I'm brunette,  Sam's auburn/red hair and our younger sister is blonde.  Genetics huh? This sister is my gorgeous niece and nephew's Mumma.

I went to the movies today with my sisters and saw Step Up 2 The Streets Don't get me wrong, I am a movie fusspot - it's all those years working in a video store I'm sure, but I usually love dance movies and I thought this was CRAP!!!!  Ugh two hours I'll never get back - blah!  the dance sequences etc. were impressive and amazing but I was actually yawning.  Oh please sisters of mine, I am SO picking the next movie!  it was cool to hang out with my sisters, I can't remember the last time (if any) that we've actually gone out alone together, but we all thought the movie was crap - lol!!

Kids were happy this morning that Easter Bunny had visited BUT it's the end of an era.  Apparently Alexander has it all worked out who the real Easter Bunny is and rather than insult his intelligence, I begged him not to tell his sister and he promised not to. He looked like he'd just been introduced to some fabulous 'grown ups club' and there is no way he wants to share that with his little sister!

Alrighty, I had better get away from this computer, the internet anyway, I REALLY have to finalise my class list.  Hi Marie, I'm sure you're reading this, and I know you're only waiting on slack me, so I'm onto it - roflmao!

Hope you haven't eaten too much chocolate like I have, thanks for the visit and seeya xxxxx

Happy Easter

WHAT is the go with Easter arriving already?  Are you kidding me, it's the end of the first term this year too.  Didn't the year just begin???  Either I've been asleep, or the year is just flying!  And damn those delicious and irresistible Easter Eggs begging me to eat them - it's all THEIR fault you know.....

Eggs

So finally realising that Easter was upon me, I did some shopping yesterday. Kids are done thankfully ;) I can't be bothered with Easter this year - lol, does that make me a bad person?

Bunny10_resize

Well except of course for the Easter scrapping I've done for Paperific

I've loved doing that....

Now don't stress if you're coming along, about getting your layout finished because I am, right now, making detailed handouts for anyone who comes along and doesn't quite get finished.  I think many people will finish, but if you're anything like me, you never finish in a class and like to tweak it after the class, so you'll have instructions if you need them. :)

I taught the next Book of Me class at Simply Said (am busting to put a link here hint hint - lol....) in Warragul over the last couple of days.  Here is my sample:

Ss_bom_class__2

The theme was something personal to you, something that would remind someone else of you, something sentimental...Mine was my rings.  I was SO happy with that photo. :)  Anyway all the ladies that did my class did a fantastic page each - all of them, and the best part of this series is seeing how different they all are!

Okay I'm off to battle the crazy crowds at the shops, so for now, hope you have a great Good Friday tomorrow :)

Ooo speaking of Good Friday, how amazing was the Crop 4 Kids total?  OVER $11 000, yes ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!  A HUGE well done Jess and crew, a HUGE one!!!

Damn it is HOT!

Okay I can handle the heat, normally, but this is INSANE - blah.  Geez I've been whining about the weather - lol, it is YUCK!  Everyone is tired and cranky and I am tired of my house being closed up all the time and don't even get me started on the freaking spiders - EW and the dust- blah....it is however fabulous for the washing on the line.  The heat even makes some clothes have no wrinkles  - love that!

Okay whinging over for now.  I had a FABULOUS time at Crop For Kids on Saturday - best day I've had out in AGES!  Despite the fact that we travelled there via Bell Street (lol) we managed to arrive in good time and have plenty of scrapping time as well.  It was bloody hot in the afternoon, I'll never look at Vegemite in the same way again, and my face HURT from laughing so much.  Not much scrapping achieved either so a perfect day in all and even a dinner after :)  Here's our rowdy sweaty table.......

Bw_resize

It was really well organised, plenty to do, bargains to be had and I was VERY happy to have met quite a few of my online friends that I hadn't met in real life before and catch up with these girls again of course,  AND, I was VERY happy to meet the wife of a friend I had in high school who I'd had a little contact with via the Mirabel Hearts campaign, but didn't know until now - Hi Tanya in case you're reading :)

Now Tanya makes aprons for scrapping.  Yep scrapping aprons with cute little sayings on the front and they are fabulous and she GAVE me one.  So not only was she gorgeous and talented but she is generous too and I was really honoured to receive it.:)

So, in short now I will post a photo on here in the next day or so of the aprons and if you want to buy one too, I can put you in touch with Tanya.

Now speaking of Mummas, my Madeleine finally got a bit better - yay and while the kiddies have been at school I've been madly scrapping for my Paperific classes.  I am now finished - yippee yahoo, and I have to say I'm very pleased with how it has all turned out.  Better than I anticipated I think so while I've already shown you a peek of my Easter class here's my other one - a Mixed Acrylic album .  That isn't it on site but it's using the same stuff.  Mind you, I'd be quite happy to own that one :)  Here is mine anyway:

Album_peek2

So click on any of those links if you want to come and do this class with me using that divine October Afternoon paper range and mixed pages made of all different stuff in all different sizes.

I'm going to share this now too - in Scrapbooking Memories .  You've probably seen it here before but here it is again.....

My_sunshine

It took ages to stitch....lol....anyway I'm teaching a class in the morning, so I'm off to bed.  thanks for the visit and seeya xx

Clearly

I should be packing for tomorrow - Crop For Kids

Instead I'm fannying about on the computer, trying to decide what to pack, stuffing around on Facebook - sigh..I'd really like to go to bed - lol!!!  So a quickie for tonight :)

Kids are both back at school today - yay!  It was crazy hair day, I'm feeling a bit neglectful actually.  Their hair could have been far more creative, I kind of feel like I let them down but they were happy enough.  I'll post pics when I can be bothered editing them....

For now though I'm just sharing this -

Snow_clear

This album has popped my clear album cherry and I think I'm addicted - lol!!  I didn't really like the idea of clear albums initially and found it a bit of a challenge to maintain the purpose of having the entire album clear in the first place.  Once I got my head around the layering and stuff, I have to say I loved making it.  I made it ages ago, well feels like that anyway. ;)  Can finally share.

Okay if you're at the crop tomorrow, don't be shy, please come and say HELLO to me!!!  I'll be the one on the noisy table (maybe) he he he......oh and don't listen the the lies that spill from the fingers of Raylene , I'm only a little obnoxious and I'll be working hard tomorrow......yeah right....lol....see you there!!!!

Almost

We are almost back to normal - kind of.  Madeleine is going back to school tomorrow no matter what.  I have to admit I am so desperate for some space and peace.  I've had hardly any sleep for a few days and I'm starting to feel a bit flustered by it all.  Poor thing, she was really suffering but seems to be on the mend now so yay...

Turns out Alexander had a fabulous day at school yesterday despite his Mum forcing him to go and he bounced out the door today...hooray, chalk that one up to me....phew...

So, anyway, I've mentioned that I've been teaching classes in Warragul this term, finally brought them home to photograph.  I had another doodling class last night - again enthusiasm abounds - it's awesome!!!

I've also been running a Book of Me class which is a regular thing and here's the first sample - the title page of my book anyway.  It was amazing how they all turned out so different from each other.  I LOVE that!!

Ss_bom_class_1

I have another one next week in this series, I'll share when  I'm finished with the class. :)

I taught this class last week - accordion books.  I've lost count of how many of these I've made now and one of the participants made a PILE of them -  they were gorgeous!

Ss_acc_book_class

Today I've completed a magazine product challenge and been madly scrapping and planning for Paperific.

Book your class spots with me here

Tomorrow I'm hoping to make a mini album or two for classes, and then we have Alexander's basketball break up and party and then Saturday I'm off to Crop 4 Kids Now that it's close I'm very excited that it's almost here.  I have masses of mojo right now so hopefully I keep it for a while - lol...

Okay I keep forgetting what I actually wanted blog so I think I will head off to bed.  The weather forecast for here tomorrow is FORTY degrees.  Yes FORTY - ew, it's March for goodness' sake.  I'm OVER the heat, move on already and give us Autumn - NOW!!!  It's my favourite season and I'm hanging for it!

Thanks for stopping in, please book soon if you're doing my classes at Paperific so you don't miss out :)

Terrific Paperific!!!!!!

I knew I'd forget to post something - lol.  No posts for almost a month and now two at once!!!

I forgot to say that I am teaching at Paperific this month in Melbourne for Karen's Scrappin Kupboard

Woohoo - how exciting!  I hope you all come and do classes with me - the products are YUMMY, and I'd love to meet you if I haven't already, or even if I have.  The classes will be fun, I always have a good laugh!!!!!

Oh and one more thing...........the Mirabel Hearts go on sale tomorrow.  Fingers crossed that Pip gets LOTS of money donated :)

Okay I'm going to push off now.  It's been great to scrap non-stop because I 'have' to, but I also 'have' to tackle the mountain of washing awaiting me - lol - seeya xx
